The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 147 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 2.2 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Saturday, December 17, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 25.06 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Cimahi City, with respective values of 31.85 per 100,000 population/week, 29.84 per 100,000 population/week, 25.69 per 100,000 population/week, 25.53 per 100,000 population/week, and 25.06 per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A higher than previous daily confirmed positive case count was recorded in 44 districts/cities, while 103 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Belitung, Balangan, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 24.47 per 100,000 population/week, 16.35 per 100,000 population/week, and 14.46 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
