The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 165 regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, which currently stands at 1.04 percent (data as of Wednesday, July 13, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 9.66 percent are North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, and East Jakarta, with values of 11.41 percent, 10.55 percent, 10.07 percent, 9.89 percent, and 9.66 percent, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most regencies/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 80 regencies/cities, while 76 regencies/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Denpasar, Banjarmasin, and Pematangsiantar, with seven-day positivity rates of 7.15 percent, 6.72 percent, and 6.46 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
