The Indonesian COVID-19 Task Force report shows that active COVID-19 cases in Indonesia reached 127,829 on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Central Java contributed the most active cases nationwide, with 18,303 cases.
North Sumatra was second with the highest number of active corona cases, at 15,210. Papua and West Java followed, each with 11,326 and 8,117 active COVID-19 cases, respectively.
Next, Yogyakarta and East Java had 6,636 and 6,344 active COVID-19 cases. Aceh, Bali, Jakarta, and East Kalimantan also made the list of provinces with the highest number of active COVID-19 cases, with 6,300, 4,606, 4,332, and 4,171 active corona cases, respectively.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia reached 4,153,355 as of yesterday. 3.32% of these cases resulted in death, and 93.59% recovered.
The government continues to urge the public to always implement the 3M health protocols to prevent the spread of corona: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is also encouraged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
