Average Length of Schooling in Tanjung Pinang City Increases to 10.8 Years

The average length of schooling (RLS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Tanjung Pinang City, Riau Islands, reached 10.8 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the RLS of the residents in the region was above the average for Riau Islands Province, which reached 10.72 years in 2025.

The RLS of Tanjung Pinang City residents increased by 0.13 years (1.22%) compared to the previous year, which was 10.67 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the RLS increased by 0.55 years (5.37%).

This RLS indicates that the average resident of Tanjung Pinang City only attends school up to the 10th grade. This RLS is better than the national average RLS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 6 other regencies/cities in Riau Islands Province, Tanjung Pinang City's RLS is in 2nd position. Other areas in the province with the highest RLS are Batam City (11.34 years), while the lowest RLS is Anambas Islands Regency (7.79 years).
