The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 140 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.81 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, October 23, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 28.31 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with values of 40.6, 40.53, 35.01, 29.56, and 28.31 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
The national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. 74 districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 58 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Balikpapan, Belu, and Kupang, with confirmed positive cases of 23.84, 21.33, and 19.8 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
