The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 75 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 3.91 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Saturday, July 23, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 116.69 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with respective values of 166.24 per 100,000 population/week, 147.64 per 100,000 population/week, 126.1 per 100,000 population/week, 120.51 per 100,000 population/week, and 116.69 per 100,000 population/week.
The national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 71 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 32 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case values include Badung, Palangkaraya, and Denpasar, with confirmed positive cases of 48.77 per 100,000 population/week, 41.25 per 100,000 population/week, and 27.52 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
