The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 123 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 1.43 percent (data as of Sunday, January 29, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 25 percent are Gayo Lues, South Manokwari, East Halmahera, Lamandau, and Fakfak, with values of 57.14 percent, 50 percent, 40 percent, 25 percent, and 25 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. A higher seven-day positivity rate compared to the previous day was recorded in 74 districts/cities, while 31 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Gayo Lues, South Manokwari, and East Halmahera, with seven-day positivity rates of 57.14 percent, 50 percent, and 40 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
