The Covid-19 Task Force report shows that Indonesia remained free from red and orange zones of the coronavirus from December 13-19, 2021. This means that for over two months and a week, Indonesia had no regions with high or moderate levels of coronavirus transmission risk.
Specifically, Indonesia has been free from red zones for 14 weeks. Meanwhile, Indonesia has had no orange zones since October 18, 2021.
A total of 422 districts/cities were categorized as yellow zones from December 13-19, 2021. This is a decrease of 13 areas compared to the previous week, which had 435 areas.
Meanwhile, the green zones are expanding across the country. 92 districts/cities are in the green zone due to having no new coronavirus infections. However, no districts/cities in Indonesia are categorized as green zones with no impact from Covid-19.
Although the Covid-19 risk zones continue to improve, the public must remain vigilant against the spread of the coronavirus. Especially since cases of the Omicron variant are increasing domestically.
Therefore, prevention of Covid-19 transmission is crucial. This can be achieved by implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is urged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds.
