In 2023, per capita weekly household expenditure on purchasing corn on the cob in North Tapanuli Regency was Rp91.4. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure of Rp95.04 per capita per week.

The five largest household expenditure items for the cereal group in North Tapanuli Regency, ranked from highest to lowest weekly per capita spending, are: superior quality rice (Rp25,350), wheat flour (Rp225.74), corn on the cob (Rp91.4), glutinous rice (Rp28.85), and shelled corn/corn grits (Rp20.75).
