The average expenditure of people in Malaka Regency for purchasing pepper in 2023 was Rp79.82 per capita per week. This value soared compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp41.96 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditures of residents for spices in Malaka Regency, from the highest to the lowest, were: seasoning/MSG at Rp584.04 per capita per week, salt at Rp481.81 per capita per week, pre-mixed spices at Rp254.1 per capita per week, soy sauce at Rp156.95 per capita per week, and the lowest was ready-made chili sauce at Rp0.51 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members for a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be grouped into two parts: food and non-food needs.
