Residents of Kapuas Hulu Regency spend Rp184,8 per capita per week on ready-made chili sauce.

In Kapuas Hulu Regency in 2023, per capita weekly expenditure on ready-made sambal was Rp184.8. This figure surged compared to the previous year's Rp108.38 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditure items for spices in Kapuas Hulu Regency, ranked from highest to lowest weekly per capita spending, were: pre-mixed spices (Rp719.17), flavor enhancers/MSG (Rp688.45), salt (Rp579.6), soy sauce (Rp501.49), and candlenut (Rp56.25).

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be categorized into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food expenditure is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on ready-made sambal was in Tanjung Pinang City and the lowest in Malaka Regency. Kapuas Hulu Regency ranked 39th in terms of expenditure on ready-made sambal. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on ready-made sambal is Rp254.
