Jakarta Pusat residents' expenditure on potatoes: Rp1,287.15 per capita per week

The average expenditure of residents in Central Jakarta for purchasing potatoes in 2023 was Rp1,287.15 per capita per week. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp1,340.6 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditures of residents for tubers in Central Jakarta, from highest to lowest, were: potatoes at Rp1,287.15 per capita per week; cassava at Rp214.62 per capita per week; sweet potatoes at Rp140.99 per capita per week; taro at Rp32.87 per capita per week; and the lowest expenditure was for sago (not from cassava) at Rp4.82 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be grouped into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food expenditure is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

Based on region, the highest resident expenditure for purchasing potatoes was in Tolikara Regency and the lowest in Muna Barat Regency. Central Jakarta's potato expenditure ranked 65th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing potatoes is Rp257.5 per capita per week.
