The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 142 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.21 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Tuesday, September 27, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 15.91 per 100,000 population/week are Balikpapan City, Mimika Regency, Kupang City, Madiun City, and Teluk Bintuni Regency, with values of 19.97, 17.58, 17.03, 16.26, and 15.91 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Sixty-one districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than previously, while 99 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Balikpapan City, Mimika Regency, and Kupang City, with confirmed positive cases of 19.97, 17.58, and 17.03 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
