The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 136 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.23 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, October 2, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with the highest confirmed positive cases, exceeding 24.91 per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, North Jakarta, and Kupang City, with respective values of 45.42 per 100,000 population/week, 29.49 per 100,000 population/week, 28.09 per 100,000 population/week, 25.83 per 100,000 population/week, and 24.91 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. A higher than previous daily confirmed positive case count was recorded in 62 districts/cities, while 57 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang City, Tomohon City, and Tana Tidung, with confirmed positive cases of 24.91 per 100,000 population/week, 14.49 per 100,000 population/week, and 13.02 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
