Manado Has Indonesia's Cleanest Air This Morning

Manado had the cleanest air quality in Indonesia this morning. According to the air quality index from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Manado scored 22 on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 6:00 AM WIB.

At that time, Manado's air quality was categorized as "good," meaning pollutant levels were very minimal. Mamuju followed in second place with an air quality index of 25, and Palu was third with an index of 31.

Below is a complete list of the 10 cities with the cleanest air quality in Indonesia according to the KLHK on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 6:00 AM WIB:

1. Manado (North Sulawesi): 22
2. Mamuju (West Sulawesi): 25
3. Palu (Central Sulawesi): 31
4. Tanjung Jabung Timur (Jambi): 33
5. Bulungan (North Kalimantan): 35
6. Padang (West Sumatra): 39
7. Gorontalo (Gorontalo): 40
8. Banda Aceh (Aceh): 45
9. Palembang (South Sumatra): 51

While the air quality in these cities is considered the cleanest nationally, not all cities have good air quality.

Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 14 of 2020 concerning the Air Pollutant Standard Index, the KLHK classifies the air quality index as follows:
