Cases in Indonesia Leveling Off; Active COVID-19 Cases No Longer Among Top Three in Southeast Asia

The spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus has been steadily declining in Indonesia over the past month. This has resulted in a decrease in active Covid-19 cases in the country.

According to Worldometers, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia was recorded at 168,563 as of Thursday, March 24, 2022. This number places Indonesia's coronavirus infection cases fourth in Southeast Asia.

Vietnam has the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia, reaching 3,828,095 cases. Malaysia is in second place with 248,863 active Covid-19 cases.

Next, Thailand has 237,125 active Covid-19 cases. Below Indonesia are Laos and the Philippines, with 150,735 and 44,597 cases respectively.

Furthermore, the active coronavirus infection cases in Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and Timor Leste are 34,033, 24,112, 11,046, 1,009, and 18 cases respectively.

Although active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia have decreased, the public should not be complacent. The government continues to urge the public to always implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
