According to Artsy's *The Art Market Recap*, the world's most expensive painting in 2022 was Andy Warhol's *Shot Sage Blue Marilyn*.

*Shot Sage Blue Marilyn* sold at Christie's New York in May 2022 for USD 195 million, or approximately Rp2.9 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,000 per USD).

The buyer was Larry Gagosian, an American entrepreneur who owns a contemporary art gallery.

Another Andy Warhol work, *White Disaster [White Car Crash 19 Times]*, also made the list of highest-selling paintings last year.
