UGM Among the Most Popular Universities on Instagram

The Emplifi research institute released a list of the world's most popular universities on the social media platform Instagram. Of the ten universities listed, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) ranked tenth, the only Indonesian representative, with 6,622 interactions.

Harvard University topped the list as the most popular university on Instagram, with a total of 18,933 interactions. This was followed by Texas A&M University with 13,753 interactions and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with 13,000 interactions.

UGM's achievement placed it below the University of Oxford, which had 6,833 Instagram interactions. UGM maintains a diverse social media presence, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This diversified approach aims to reach audience segments based on their age demographics.

According to UGM officials, managing official websites and social media is crucial for universities to build their image and communicate with the public.

Emplifi is a research institute focusing on big data, digital marketing, branding, and social media. Emplifi assessed social media interactions across various global universities from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.
