Surpassing Kopi Kenangan, Janji Jiwa Had the Most Outlets in Indonesia in 2022

Kopi Janji Jiwa is the coffee brand with the most outlets in Indonesia. This is evident in a report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) titled *Indonesia: Food Service-Hotel Restaurant Institutional*, October 2023 edition.

Citing data from Euromonitor, the USDA states that Kopi Janji Jiwa had 1,100 outlets in 2022.

The coffee shop, under the umbrella of PT Luna Boga Narayan, recorded sales of US$71.3 million, or approximately Rp1.11 trillion (assuming Rp15,709 per US$), last year.

Following Kopi Janji Jiwa's success, Kopi Kenangan is second with 932 outlets and sales reaching US$93.3 million, or approximately Rp1.46 trillion.

"In Indonesia, visiting such places (coffee shops) is currently a major trend among upper-middle-class consumers, especially the younger generation," the USDA wrote in its report.

Meanwhile, Starbucks, a coffee shop competitor from outside Indonesia, ranks sixth with 443 outlets.

Although its number of outlets in Indonesia is not yet very large, Starbucks achieved revenue of US$154.9 million, or around Rp2.43 trillion in 2022.
