Top PC Brands by Shipment Volume in Indonesia, Q2 2024

According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the volume of personal computer (PC) shipments to Indonesia reached 953,100 units in Q2 2024.

This volume increased by 17.8% year-on-year (YoY) compared to Q2 of the previous year, which saw 808,700 units shipped.

The figure represents the combined shipments of desktop computers, notebooks, and workstations.

IDC attributes the growth of the Indonesian PC market partly to a 28.7% YoY surge in the consumer segment following the government's lifting of import restrictions, including on notebooks.

These import restrictions were initially planned to last from the end of Q1 2024 to the end of Q2 2024, but were lifted earlier in mid-Q2, allowing manufacturers to anticipate a surge in demand in Q3.

"Furthermore, the absence of shipments from multinational vendors provided opportunities for local vendors to increase their shipment contributions," wrote IDC in its report on Monday, September 16, 2024.

In Q2 2024, Asus was the leading PC vendor in Indonesia, shipping 227,400 units, a 47.2% YoY increase from the same period last year.

Lenovo followed in second place with 211,400 units shipped, a 14.3% YoY increase. Acer Group shipped 179,000 units, a 9.9% YoY increase, while HP Inc. shipments decreased by 7.5% YoY to 126,500 units.

Axioo's PC shipments soared by 56% YoY to 44,700 units, and combined shipments from other PC brands increased by 16.4% YoY to 164,000 units.
