Provincial-level cases increased by as much as double within a week.

Indonesia is currently experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases. Based on data analysis by the Covid-19 Task Force as of February 28, 2021, five provinces showed the highest percentage increase in cases. These five provinces are South Sulawesi (52.8 percent), Papua (56.8 percent), Jambi (67.1 percent), Central Sulawesi (29.3 percent), and North Kalimantan (15.3 percent). South Sulawesi has the highest position due to the highest number of cases and a percentage increase of up to double.

The increase in cases in each region in the week since February 28 resulted in a total of 1,472 cases increasing to 2,247 cases (South Sulawesi), 361 cases increasing to 566 cases (Papua), 161 cases increasing to 269 cases (Jambi), 331 cases increasing to 428 cases (Central Sulawesi), and 531 cases increasing to 612 cases (North Kalimantan).
