Sneakers are a type of fashion item frequently purchased by Indonesian consumers. However, the frequency of Indonesian consumers buying sneakers is not very high in a year.
Based on a Kurious survey from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), the average Indonesian consumer buys sneakers only 1 to 2 times a year. This accounts for 78.2% of the total respondents.
Furthermore, 18% of respondents admitted to buying sneakers 3 to 4 times a year. Another 3% of respondents bought sneakers 5 to 6 times a year.

More than half of the respondents are from Java Island excluding Jakarta (64%), followed by Jakarta (15.4%), and Sumatra (10.9%). Respondents from Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.5% to 3.6%.
Most respondents were aged between 35-44 years (31.7%), followed by the 25-34 age group (29.6%), and the 45-54 age group (22.2%).
The survey was conducted from February 14-22, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 4.9% and a 95% confidence level.
