The Ministry of Agriculture's Secretariat General, Center for Data and Agricultural Information Systems, recorded that the area of ??producing palm oil plantations at the end of 2017 reached 9.26 million hectares. Production amounted to 35.36 million tons. As a result, national palm oil productivity reached 3,817 tons/ha. On average, throughout the period 1995-2017, the productivity of Indonesian palm oil plantations grew by only 0.72%/year.
Meanwhile, according to the status of its entrepreneurship, the area of ??palm oil plantations reached 12.31 million hectares. This figure consists of 6.8 million hectares of large private plantations (PBS), 4.76 million hectares of people's plantations (PR), and 752,000 hectares of large state-owned plantations (PBN).
Throughout the period 2000-2017, the area of ??PR palm oil plantations recorded growth of 12.21%/year, then PBN grew by 3.57%/year, and PBS increased by 11.14%/year. As a result, the national palm oil plantation area recorded growth of 10.21%/year.
