Top 10 Indonesian Tobacco Buyers Through October 2023

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that Indonesia's tobacco exports reached 7.31 million kilograms (kg) from January to October 2023.

This weight is down 35.46% year-on-year (yoy) from 11.32 million kg in October 2022.

The value of tobacco exports in October 2023 was recorded at US$71.85 million. This value also dropped by 21.11% (yoy) from US$91.07 million in October 2022.

The Dominican Republic was the largest buyer of Indonesian tobacco in October 2023, with a volume of 1.43 million kg. Although significant, this volume has fallen by 58.39% (yoy) from 3.45 million kg in October 2022.

Export value to the Dominican Republic reached US$12.53 million in October 2023, down 20.41% (yoy) from US$15.74 million in October 2022.

The next largest export destination was Sri Lanka with a weight of 887,130 kg. The volume increased by 19.27% (yoy) from 743,800 kg in October 2022.

South Korea followed, reaching 732,280 kg in October 2023. Shipments increased significantly by 128.33% (yoy) from 321,071 kg in October 2022.

Neighboring countries that ordered Indonesian tobacco include the Philippines (694,410 kg) and Singapore (615,280 kg).

Major countries such as the United States recorded purchases of 336,890 kg of Indonesian tobacco, a drastic decrease of 75.29% (yoy) from 1.36 million kg in October 2022. The remaining figures are shown in the graph.
