Chicken Prices in These 10 Provinces Saw the Highest Increase Up to Mid-Year (June 6, 2022)

The price of broiler chicken in eastern Indonesia has generally increased year-to-date (YTD). West Sulawesi experienced the highest price increase. Meanwhile, South Kalimantan recorded the highest national price.

Based on data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), the price of broiler chicken in traditional markets in West Sulawesi was Rp34,150 per kg on June 6, 2022. This price increased by Rp6,650 per kg or 24.18% (YTD) compared to Rp27,500 per kg at the end of 2021. This increase was the highest nationally.

The next province with the highest increase in broiler chicken prices was Gorontalo, at 17.64% (YTD) to Rp33,350 per kg. This was followed by Central Kalimantan, which increased by 14.3% (YTD) to Rp42,750 per kg, and South Sulawesi, which increased by 10.38% (YTD) to Rp30,850 per kg.

Next was Central Sulawesi, where the price of broiler chicken increased by 10.34% (YTD) to Rp36,800 per kg. Then, the price of broiler chicken in South Kalimantan increased by 6.17% (YTD) to Rp47,350 per kg. This was the highest price nationally (June 6, 2022).

The price of broiler chicken in North Kalimantan increased by 5.29% (YTD) to Rp44,750 per kg. Then, the price of chicken in Papua increased by 4.94% (YTD) to Rp41,400 per kg, in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) by 3.6% (YTD) to Rp41,750 per kg, and in Southeast Sulawesi by 3.51% (YTD) to Rp38,350 per kg.
