Urea, the Most Widely Distributed SubsidiZed Fertilizer in 2020

The disbursement of subsidized fertilizer reached 8.59 million tons in 2020. Urea fertilizer had the largest disbursement by type.

The disbursement of subsidized urea fertilizer reached 3.91 million tons in 2020. This figure increased from 3.69 million tons in 2019. In 2018, urea fertilizer disbursement reached 4.08 million tons.

Quoting *Katadata*, urea fertilizer is a single fertilizer with a high nitrogen (N) content of around 45-46%. Nitrogen is crucial for cultivated plants as it aids leaf formation.

Fertilizers containing Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potassium (NPK) were disbursed by 2.66 million tons in 2020. This increased from 2.31 million tons in 2019. In 2018, disbursement reached 2.65 million tons.

In 2020, special formula NPK fertilizer, used only for cocoa plants, began to be disbursed. Disbursement of this fertilizer took place in North Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi, totaling 11,010 tons.
