The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) set the benchmark price for nickel at US$14,926 per dry metric tonne (dmt) for the second period of July 2025.

This benchmark is a slight decrease of 0.11% from the beginning of June 2025, which was US$14,942.67 per dmt. This decrease has occurred for four consecutive periods, starting in May 2025.

Compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy), the benchmark price at the end of July 2025 also fell by 20.7% from the full period of July 2024, which was US$18,823.86 per dmt.

This benchmark price was set through Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree (Kepmen ESDM) Number 244.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025 concerning the Reference Price for Metal Minerals and the Reference Price for Coal for the Second Period of July 2025, on July 14, 2025.

A price decrease also occurred in the coal mining sector. During the same period, the Ministry of ESDM set the Indonesian Coal Reference Price (HBA) at US$97.65 per ton.
