Based on survey results from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) sample area framework (KSA), national food consumption rice production is projected to reach 30.34 million tons throughout 2024.
The volume is reduced by approximately 757,130 tons, or a decrease of 2.43%, compared to rice production in 2023, which amounted to 31.10 million tons.
Indonesia's main rice-producing regions are located on Java and Sumatra islands.
The highest rice production this year is estimated to come from East Java, Central Java, and West Java.
Meanwhile, the lowest rice production is from Papua Pegunungan, Riau Islands, and Southwest Papua.
The following is a detailed breakdown of rice production volume in 38 Indonesian provinces in 2024, according to BPS's preliminary projections, ordered from highest to lowest:
