Data from Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) shows that Indonesia's palm oil exports reached 27.49 billion kilograms (kg) from January to November 2023.
This volume increased by 4.88% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the same period in the previous year, which was 26.22 billion kg.
In terms of value, Indonesia's palm oil exports amounted to US$23.97 billion from January to November 2023. This figure, however, dropped by 19.09% (yoy) from the previous US$29.62 billion.
At least 10 countries are the largest markets for Indonesian palm oil. India ranks first with export volume of 5.40 billion kg in January-November 2023. This volume increased by 8.17% (yoy) from 4.99 billion kg in the same period of the previous year.
The export value from India reached US$4.51 billion by November 2023, down 15.09% (yoy) from the previous US$5.32 billion.
China ranks second with a volume of 4.81 billion kg. This volume surged by 25.54% (yoy) from the previous 3.83 billion kg.
Third is Pakistan, with a volume of 2.50 billion kg. This weight decreased by 10.74% (yoy) from the previous 2.80 billion kg.
Fourth is the United States (US) with 1.97 billion kg, and fifth is Bangladesh with 1.36 billion kg as of November 2023.
Outside of these five countries, volumes were less than 1 billion kg. These countries include Egypt, Malaysia, Vietnam, Spain, and Myanmar.
