The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released the latest women's doubles rankings following the Australia Open 2024.
In the tournament held in Sydney from June 11-16, 2024, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi were the only Indonesian team to win a title.
The pair, known as Ana and Tiwi, defeated the Malaysian pair, Lai Pei Jing and Lim Chiew Sien, in the final match at Quaycentre on Sunday (June 16, 2024).
Ana and Tiwi won in three games with a final score of 12-21, 21-7, and 21-13.
This is Ana and Tiwi's first title in a Super 500 level tournament, ending an 11-year title drought for Indonesian women's doubles.
Due to this achievement, Ana and Tiwi, previously ranked 18th in the world, are now ranked 14th with 61,674 points.
Meanwhile, Lai Pei Jing and Lim Chiew Sien, the runners-up, remain stagnant at 151st in the world with 7,800 points.
The top-ranked women's doubles pair remains the Chinese pair, Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan, with 113,556 points.
